Perfect fit
Ordered late Monday, arrived Thursday along with 4 other components using standard shipping. The remaining all showed up Friday. As usual, Amazon did a great job combining orders and I paid maybe $30 shipping in total, for everything. I installed the following, and this part was compatible: ASUS P8Z68-V/Gen3 motherboard Intel Core i5-2500K CPU Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler (RR-212E-20PK-R1) Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 case Corsair 60GB Force Series 3 SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5 inch SSD Lite-On Lightscribe 24x SATA DVD WD Caviar Black 500 GB SATAIII 7200 RPM 32 MB cache OEM Corsair TXM V2 Series 650W 80+ Bronze modular power supply Windows 7 64 bit OEM Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8 GB PC3 1600 mhz DDR3 memory My old WD HDD SATAII 7200 RPM from previous PC MSI GeForce GTX560 Ti 1GB DDR5 Twin Frozr II OC This works nicely with my mobo setting on XMP. Fit nicely in the slots, sturdy and solid. Booted right up with no memory errors. The thing I liked about these sticks is that it fits nicely under my CPU cooler with no clearance issues. I think the extreme epeen fins on some of the RAM may look fancy, but may not clear your CPU cooler if you're using air cooling. Particularly if you try to slot them in the first slot next to the CPU. These low profile barely clear the fins on the hyper 212 when put in slot one, in this mobo. So if you're considering buying the taller sticks, take this into consideration. I'm overclocked to 4.5ghz with two 120mm front fans, 1 120mm rear fan, and a 200mm top fan and my mobo and cpu temps are barely above room temp at idle and never come close to any danger zone even at max settings stress testing using Intel Burn Test. I may receive flames for this, but that leads me to conclude that the finned RAM sticks are pretty much for show. Great value, great name brand, would highly recommend this RAM for your overclocked air cooled rig, or any other set up for that matter. Cheers.

Corsair Vengeance LP Memory
I chose this memory for my first build because it was cheap and from a well known brand. I also liked that it didn't have the big heat-sinks like on the regular Vengeance RAM which allows room for aftermarket CPU heat-sinks. My PC is used mainly for gaming and Netflix, and 8 GB is more than enough for those needs. The only problem I had was the BIOS detecting them as 1333 mHZ instead of 1600, but a quick change in the BIOS fixed that that. Changing the frequency to 1600 mHz also increased the timings from 9-9-9-24 to 11-11-11-2?, so i had to manually change them as well, so be on the lookout for that. The timings issue is from my BIOS though and says nothing bad about the RAM. It works flawlessly; definitely recommended. UPDATE (28 Dec. 2012): No problems after more than a year. I eventually brought the frequency back down to 1333MHz and was able to tighten the timings to 7-8-7-22. Stable, no problems. UPDATE (5 Feb. 2015): Still going strong. Now being used with an i5 3570k and z77 motherboard and XMP profile loads automatically. No problems at all; this is some durable memory. UPDATE (3 Mar 2017): Still going; coupled with another pair of 8 GB for 16 total in a new build - the 4th this memory has been in! Highly recommend

This RAM worked well when I had this computer.

Just awesome, zero problems
Awesome memory, the best I've ever had in many ways. Simply took the old memory sticks out and popped these in and Windows 7 Home Premium immediately recognized the new memory. Also, this memory is low profile which means that it doesn't have oversized heat spreaders that can create problems when trying to install bulky after-market (non-stock) CPU coolers. Many after market CPU coolers hang over the memory slots and if you have large heatsinks sticking up from the memory then there's not enough clearance for the CPU cooler. This memory fit right into my son's Rosewill Challenger mid-ATX case and I was still able to install a Cooler Master Hyper T4 CPU cooler onto the AMD Phenom II X4 CPU without a problem. One of the copper heat pipes for the CPU cooler comes very close to touching the nearest memory stick, but it's still not a problem because I don't think it's actually touching it and even if it is then it's still only touching the memory's heat sink and not the actual RAM itself.

Good RAM, bad Tech Support
~~~~~~~~~~Update~~~~~~~~~~ I've now had this memory running in my newly upgraded computer (on the ASUS M5A97 motherboard) and it has run flawlessly. I'm now convinced that the trouble was incompatibility with the MSI motherboard I had previously. :) Now....if the price on this RAM would drop again, I'd get another set to hit 16 GB RAM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Originally I ordered this RAM to replace an off brand set of DDR3 1333 memory on an MSI 785G-E53 motherboard and AMD PhenomII X2 560 BE. After a couple weeks I started getting BSOD's. The latest version of Memtest tested the memory fine, no errors. 12 hours of Prime95 ran fine too. Ripped and reinstalled video drivers didn't help either. Ran each stick one at a time and could never truly pinpoint a bad stick. Popped my old memory back in and sent a tkt off to Corsair. They authorized an RMA immediately however didn't provide any sort of tech support to truly determine if I had a bad stick or not. I'm still not convinced that either of the sticks are bad. Fast Forward a couple of months. I've recently done some minor upgrades to my machine which includes a new motherboard (Asus M5A97) because I didn't like the MSI one very much. I paired the Asus MB with PhenomII x4 960T BE and a Crucial M4 128GB. I'm using the same set of Corsair Vengeance RAM in this setup and so far so good for about 2 weeks, no trouble. Only time will tell though. If the RAM continues to perform well in the next few months, then I'll chalk the whole experience up as incompatibility with the MSI motherboard. Nothing much to say, it's RAM.
Nothing much to say, it's RAM. I had one 2x8gb kit of these for about 8 months now and they never had any problems. Just recently upgrade my rig with a new PSU and a second GPU so I decided to grab another kit since I was in there anyway. Plus the prices have dropped a decent bit since I ordered the first kit (On sale for $77.99 at the time). I like that it's low profile and has a nice clean look, fits fine under my Noctua NH-D15. Big reason why I wanted this non big heatsink one. No problems as far as reliability or crashing from these, set to XMP and forget.
No Errors, No Complaints
I've been running this RAM in my new gaming computer I just built for a couple months now. Never had any stability issues. I put the PC into sleep mode more often than I shut it down, and the RAM has handled that well. I'm about to install a Havik 140, which makes me glad I ordered the low profile heat spreader. In all honesty, RAM doesn't generate a whole lot of heat. If you're trying to decide between the big, high-profile ram sticks and these, I'd go for these. There's really no performance difference, and you never know what your clearance requirements might be for a CPU cooler. My BIOS auto-detected it at a 1333 mHz speed, but I just set it to 1600 manually and it was fine. You should make sure it's set to 1600, because you will get a non-negligible performance gain. I haven't tried overclocking this ram yet, but I might give it a shot in the future. Overall, Corsair is a good brand. You really can't go wrong with Corsair, Mushkin, GSkill, etc. Mostly I picked these for the looks and the good reviews, and I wasn't disappointed.
Good value (if you want black LP RAM)
I wanted to go LP in my ITX build in case I wanted to put in a bigger CPU fan at a later date. 8GB is the sweet spot for most computers, and Corsair is a reputable brand. Why buy this specific kit? Well, it's 2x4gb, it's black which looks great in every build, and it's low profile, which is great for smaller builds. There's not much more you can say about RAM, I think. It works.
