Royal Velvet White, Fabric by the Yard

This is the second velvet I've purchased and I'm still in love. The color is great and overall well made. It's a bit stiff so don't expect it to just flow into place because it won't.

This fabric is great — soft brushed texture, without added stretch. Many velvet/velvetine fabrics I’ve ordered online have wound up having some sort of elasticity, even if the description doesn’t state in fiber content, so I was prepared to receive the same sort of leotard-type material [even though it wouldn’t have been ideal]. Pleasant surprise to finally receive some non-stretch velvet! It’s thick and heavy which enhanced the quality appearance of my cloak project. Definitely upholstery-weight, but soft enough to drape [no plastic-y crinkle or stiffness]. I ordered in white and fabric is completely opaque. Will absolutely buy again for future projects.

Nice quality fabric , has a good weight/ thickness to it, no stretch, and in a pretty pink color. Quite shiny and soft to touch.

High quality fabric. Colors are vibrant, texture is pleasant, and there is very little stretch. Very little fraying when cut. The grey is a very light silver (not the darker shade pictured), but every other color I've purchased has been true to the pictures in the listing.

I bought 2 yards at Joannes for $10 a yard. Then I bought this velvet for $8.99 a yard from Amazon. The Amazon velvet is a much higher quality and I will be buying more. I do recommend this velvet if you want one that doesn’t have any stretch to it. It was for Christmas items, stockings, etc. the two reds, top Amazon, bottom Joann

This is not a quality fabric. It is a cheap, very light-weight, velvet imitation that is not substantial enough to be used as a decor pillow backing. It is a jersey type stretch fabric--there is no mention of stretch in the description. It is described as " suitable for accent pillows, upholstering furniture, headboards, ottomans, and more." It is not suitable for any of those applications. Velvet is a substantial weight fabric with a distinct pile--there is no pile to this fabric.
