PARENTS/DADS: HERE'S HOW TO FIX YOUR KID'S JAM PROBLEMS
Performs GREAT once you open it up and do a few simple mods. A great little after-work project. HOW TO FIX YOUR KID's DOUBLE DEALER: ### Part A - Pump Jams ### The blaster is supposed to be slam-fire capable. But it often jams up during rapid fire operation. I've found several completely different ways to fix this... **The Quick N Dirty Fix** Open the blaster, and remove: - the primed-indicator, which is secured into the off-shell by two screws - the spring-loaded ratchet-sound mech, which is in the main shell, center, near the plunger tube, to the left of the trigger. **The Complicated Fix** The jams are caused by the main spring actually not being powerful enough to push the plunger *all* the way forward, so it fails to reset the pump lock. In the heat of battle, you have to jimmy with the dang pump to get it to pump. This wrestling resets the pump lock. If the main spring were just 1cm **longer** in its overall length, this wouldn't be an issue. So to fix this, simply add a second, longer spring over the main spring! Double Spring: It is possible to easily add a second spring to the plunger tube. Use any stock blaster spring from any original N-Strike inverse-plunger blaster. I used an original Raider spring. Springs from a LongStrike, Recon, and Alpha Trooper would also work great! Nerf left extra space in the grooves around the spring retainer, as if they knew nerds would add a second spring. Thanks, nerf. ### Part B - Feed Jams ### When slam-firing, darts don't feed properly. Again, there are multiple factors at play and multiple way to fix this. ** The AR Assembly ** Due to this blaster's ability to fire from a single barrel or from both, its air restrictors are especially persnickety. Often, what happens, is slightly used darts will catch on the tips of the AR pegs, fail to go all the way back into the barrel, and instead get pushed forward and bent in half. To fix this: with your blaster open, disassemble the Air Restrictor assembly, and shorten the main AR pegs to half of their original length. After shortening them: sharpen their points. This will help feed slightly-used darts better. Re-assemble the AR assembly. Unlike other blasters where it's generally desirable to remove the ARs, on this blaster removing the ARs is bad, because if you do, you'll loose the ability to fire only from one loaded magwell. ** Magazines ** Don't use magazines with weak pusher/follower springs. Stick with 18-round straight mags. Don't use drums. The 12-rounders it comes with have somewhat weak springs. Switching to a better magazine will help with the feed jams. ** The Obvious ** Because of the special nature of this blaster's ARs, you especially have to use darts which are tough enough to actuate the air restrictors. DONT USE OLD, WEAK DARTS. Newer darts will jam a lot less. ###### After I added my second spring, It was like night and day. I found my Double Dealer now jams 20-times less. And with this second spring, the dismal ranges become comparable what you would expect from an average stock N-Strike Elite blaster. Anyways, I hope this helps.

AWESOME IN BATTLE. HITS PRETTY HARD
IT WAS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. It had a smoot loading mechanism, hits hard, looks cool, and rarely jams unless you don' use it correctly. Favorite Nerf gun.

Four Stars
Jams a bit easy, but once we got past that, a good nerf gun!

A favorite
My son says this is one of his favorite Nerf guns and he has many. He loves to mix and match components from different guns and at one point he had 4 ammo clips/attachments on it. In our picture you can see where he moved the clear clips it came with to the back, then attached two of his other ones to the sides.

Dart Eater
This thing will destroy your bullets even when used right. Its overly complex, requiring the magazines to be inserted after you pull the mechanism inward, then place the magazines, then push it outwards. However, it is very easy to jam. And since this gun requires you to pull back and forth, if you get a jam, you will tear the dart apart. Many times, the dart will be torn in half and you'll need a long screw driver to fish it out. And no, the window on top doesn't work to remove the dart since half will be contained within the barrel which is not accessible from the top window. I bought this along with many other guns and while it seems like a cool idea to have two magazines with dual firing capability, ultimately you end up with a system that has twice as many failure points. Both I (adult) and my two sons (8 and 5) had difficulty with this weapon when test firing, let alone in an actual Nerf battle.

Looks better than it shoots
This gun was my kids' favorite and they used to fight over it because it looked cool, but this gun jams much more frequently than the others. Still fun, and as long as you are careful and take your time loading all the darts and cocking the gun you're fine, but who wants to do all that? Nerf wars should just be fun, not making sure your darts are all line up perfectly in your clip! Not depressed I purchased it and it's an interesting conversation piece, but wouldn't buy again.

Grandkids will love you
Grandkids loved to hammer there day with this double blaster. Well worth it! Best part was to buy a T-Shirt for my son with a target on it. Made points with grandkids, but not sure son & daughter-in-law approved. Too bad.
