MAVEA Maxtra Replacement Filter for MAVEA Water Filtration Pitcher, 1-Pack, White

Compared to some other filters I've used, the Mavea filters are far better. The water filters at a fairly reasonable rate, and the result is great-tasting clean water. I don't particularly like the taste of my tap water, so I keep a Mavea filter pitcher in the fridge. It's really easy. I have a subscription for one of these periodically to force me to actually change the filter (it's easy to ignore the timer on the pitcher I have). Even using the same filter for longer than recommended, the water still tastes great. But a new filter helps the water go through faster, it seems. As other reviewers said, you do need to soak/rinse this and run water through it before using it. But it's a fairly easy process that doesn't take much time.

I love these filters. Water tastes so good. Filters work great at improving the ph level.

Loving the Mavea water filtration pitcher. The water quality is so clean and fresh. I use about a gallon a day. With the very poor quality of our water, the filter is still good after a month. A purchased this extra one to have on hand because the pitcher is still new, and we don't know how long the filter will last. It makes such a huge difference in water quality that we don't want to get caught without it. I can't imagine going back to either tap water or hauling plastic gallons of water upstairs.

I got the pitcher on Amazon Vine so many years ago that I honestly don't recall when. My guess is about 10 or 11 years ago. I got worried when I stopped seeing the filters in stores, but I'm relieved that they're still online.

Unfortunately, the company has discontinued their NA operations, so the pitchers are almost impossible to find! I still have mine, and I'm glad I can still get these replacement filters for it. We have hard water where I live, and this makes the water taste so much better!

First, let me just say that these filters and the entire Mavea line stand head and shoulders above the Brita filters I've used, and for a comparable price, too. I've found that mine last for a little more than a month, but I do tend to refill the pitcher once a day almost every weekday, and usually twice a day on weekends. My only complaint is that there isn't ever an actual "click" into place the way the package promises, so I always end up being a little worried at first about whether I've gotten the seams sealed so that no unfiltered water trickles through. That minor issue aside, the filter is very effective and part of a good system designed by Mavea.

I have two of the Mavea water jugs, which I had purchased last year to replace various other brand jugs. I like these filters - they work well to remove the gross chlorine smell and taste from our city water, and they don't sprinkle black charcoal bits all over the bottom of the jug ( I know it's not "dirty", but it certainly isn't nice to look at or offer to a guest ) These filters last us about the recommended use that they indicate on the package (approximately 150 litres, I believe) and make our water properly flavourless for drinking. :) Also, there is a recycling program available for the used filters, which is nice.

Good genuine product

These are the best. We use MAVEA water pitcher for water for dog bowls (and it seems like we are constantly filling them). One is a white ceramic water bowl that is pretty much never used in our laundry room so it goes untouched for days or longer - I just fill it out of habit in case our dog goes in there. When we used a Brita or PUR water filter we would get kind of a scum in that bowl as the water evaporated but with this filter -- NOTHING. The fact that there is no residue or scum in the dog dish using this filter makes it apparent that this filter screens (for lack of better terminology) better than the other two brands. As for how long they last, I have a pitcher and my mother does as well. We both put new filters in on the same day and use about a two to three pitchers full daily the filters last about two months or more.
