I spend a week on each devotion, because I want to get every morsel of revelation from each entry. Dr. Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez are both wonderful authors tuned into the very heart of God. This is one of my favorites. I had an encounter with God on the second devotion. I was suffering from two 9mm kidney stones in my left kidney. God hadn't answered my prayer to dissolve them, doctors were slow to do anything and I was near tears. The title is "I Am enough." In the first part it says, "I will not shield you from every hardship, but I am enough as you walk through them with your eyes set on Me. I am enough." Then later it says, "Many have found that, even in the deepest pain, I am still enough. Come and learn the secrets of satisfying grace." While I was reading this I was having a little 'pity party,' feeling sorry for myself thinking, God is never going to help me, but as I was reading this on my desktop computer I looked up over my monitor and my eyes meet the gaze of Jesus. I didn't see His face, but I knew it was Him and He started downloading in my soul the satisfying grace that I needed just then. During the whole ordeal of kidney surgery and recovery all I needed to so was look up and the download followed. Praise His precious and holy Name, the Lover of my soul.

Each day I'm delighted with prayers, so beautifully written, and affirming of the amazing love our God has for me that I share them with my best friends. Each day is titled, with a daily reference to a verse, or set of verses from a Psalm, in The Passion Translation. Each day's message is different, written according to the Scripture verse(s) referenced, but they apply to each of us who long for our Lord. The book itself is just glorious! It's cover is rich, in stunning ruby red leather, with an elegant pattern of tiny flames etched into the leather. This flame pattern is also the light background to glossy, gold-toned pages, with the same ruby red as its border. It's as beautiful as the messages contained within. This book of prayers will be one I treasure for years to come and is going to be the perfect gift for my BFF's & family.

This was a devotional straight from the Throne Room. Every single day it spoke to my heart and met me where I was at the moment. God indeed is Sovereign and He used these anointed authors to give me peace and joy of being seen by God. A MUST devotional. You will not be disappointed.

The book arrived early and I have been enjoying it so much. I was introduced to it by a prayer partner who read it once as a daily devotional and I was so touched by the writing, the scriptures chosen and felt each daily devotional was personally, and lovingly written just for me. It reminds me of another book I have in my library, but because I love, love, love the Book of Psalms, this book has an extra special meaning for me during my daily prayer time. I bought this book because, well, full disclosure, I do personally know the author of the prayers, Gretchen Mure Rodriguez. I had gotten to pre-read a couple of pages and knew it was going to be good. But then I got the book. And every day it seems to be something that I'm going through personally and a prayer that is just for me. So, I bought 6 more to give away as gifts. The first person I shared it with said exactly the same thing. Why? Because while we all have different struggles and issues and times, we are all the same, with the same desperate need of more of Him. Just like David and the other writers of the Psalms, we have our "good" days and we have the "not so good" days. We have our days of triumph, hallelujah, and dance and shout. And days of desperate need for wisdom and guidance. And days of feeling completely faithless and failure. Combined with The Passion Translation of scripture, the daily prayers are equally passionate and anointed, deep, heart-felt, thoughtful and worth meditating upon. #GretchenMureRodriguez

I have another devotional by Brian Simmons called I Hear His Whisper for women and I enjoy it so much every single day, I love it so much that I decided to try this one and I love it too. I love reading both of them every day and I would highly recommend either of these, they have been such a blessing to me.

Excellent Devotional on Prayers.

I love a good book of prayer, and this is one. I love that it just straight in, no page after page of waffle, just straight to glorifying and begging the Lord. No waffle their either, no pretence and diplomacy just straight talk and directly addressing th Lord and asking him to come amongst us and Gide us, heal us, draw us closer and fill our hearts with his spirit. If you are trying to live a lie of prayer, if you want your response to everything to be prayer this is a book you can rely on for that.
