Would these gloves protect me from lava?

Yes, it will protect you from lava. I bought these gloves and used my gloved left hand to retrieve my food from within the molten rock, which came out perfectly seared on all sides. I can only use my right hand to do fine detail work now like turning doorknobs, but it was worth it.

Can these withstand spills from liquid metal. my husband has small smelter for jewelry copper aluminum etc... i dont know the temp which it melts.

Unalloyed aluminum melts at 1,215°F, so any molten unalloyed aluminum will be at least 1,215°F. Copper melts at 1,983°F, so any molten copper will be at least 1,983°F. That sounds like a no. 🚫 BTW, you can look these temperatures up yourself just by entering "molten copper temperature" into your favorite web-search engine (Google, Bing, etc.). 👍
