Fantastic Multimeter
I’ve been using the Klein Tools MM420 Digital Multimeter for a bit now, and I’m honestly impressed with how solid and reliable it is. First thing I noticed is the build quality. Like most Klein Tools products, it feels durable and well-made, not like one of those cheap meters that feels like it’ll fall apart if you look at it wrong. The buttons and dial have a good, firm feel, and everything is clearly labeled. The auto-ranging feature is a huge plus. It makes taking measurements quick and simple without having to constantly adjust settings. The readings are fast and consistent, and the True RMS capability gives me confidence that I’m getting accurate results, especially when working with AC circuits. I’ve used it for checking voltage, current, and resistance, and it handles everything without any issues. The display is easy to read, even in less-than-ideal lighting, and the overall layout is intuitive. For the price, this is a great value. It’s reliable, easy to use, and built to last. Whether you’re doing basic troubleshooting or more involved electrical work, this meter gets the job done without any hassle. Definitely one of those tools you buy once and don’t have to think about replacing anytime soon.

Quality that you expect from klein
I have a few different multimeter but this one probably has the most functions on it and is my go to multimeter now. The display is easy to read amd overall easy to use. It lights up where to plug in so there isn't much thinking needed when switching. It's very audible when ohming things and beeps when your forget to turn it off. Great choice for the money

Terrific multimeter, with excellent display
A friend gave me his Klein MM 1000. He is an electrician. It was pretty beat up and have been used for many years in a tough environment. I was really impressed with the capabilities of it. However the switch eventually gave up. I wanted to find something similar and was pleased to find the client MM 420. It can "only" deal with up to 600 V circuits, which is not going to be a problem for me. It measures all the important electrical requirements and also includes temperature with an included thermocouple. I bought this one because the display looked really nice, and it is. They changed the LCD color and it really stands out, especially when backlit. Klein multimeter are "bench tested." I put this in quotes because this particular bench test means that they can handle a 3 foot drop off of a bench. I have been happy with every Klein tool I've ever bought. They offer excellent quality at very competitive prices. You can buy very basic all the way up to professional. The fact that my friend, who has been a career electrician, uses Klein multimeter was certainly a plus to me. Very happy with this purchase.

Works great
Great product. The only thing is all the functions are symbols. It would be nice if they were words, not using symbols.

Better Than Most
THE GOOD... * This DMM has a truly innovative feature: LEDs at the lead jacks reminding you which jacks to use for a given mode. So simple yet so useful. Bravo. * The fuses are accessible from the battery compartment. And they’re the serious ceramic type. * No need to switch jacks for mA measurements. * Built-in lead holders. THE BAD... * As with most DMMs, the backlight turns off whether you like it or not. But at least it stays on for a good long while before doing so. * As with most DMMs, the screen is hard to see without the backlight, but very readable with it, which is why manufacturers should really just allow customers the option to keep it on. How about: long press the backlight button keeps it on indefinitely? Is that so hard to program into the MCU? But but power consumption? Yeah well who told Klein to use AAAs and not AAs? * As with most DMMs, accessing the battery compartment requires a screwdriver. Why? THE UGLY... * Fully charged NiMH batteries show up as being dead. No I will not use leak-prone alkalines. * There is one V setting for both AC and DC. It defaults to AC. So you have to tap the SEL key every time.

Essential Tool
If you do any electrical work or just want to check your car battery a multimeter is the right choice. If the only thing you ever do is replace a light fixture or outlet then a voltage tester is probably enough. Even then you can't go wrong with a multimeter. Just know that if you're new to electrical work there is a learning curve as to which setting to use and where to place the probes. Just watch a few YouTube videos and you'll be all set. Good product and worth the investment.

Much nicer than the meter I lost.
I lost a meter l’ve had for years. I was troubleshooting an DC electrical issue on the house side of my motorhome, when it mysteriously disappeared. It’s probably somewhere around here, but I’m not missing it. Once I was sure it was gone, i immediately reported to my wife and then filed the appropriate paperwork to order this one. Boy am I glad I did. This thing feels nice. Affirmative clicks, big display with backlighting for easy read outs. I haven’t sent it out to check calibration, but Klein is well known and I trust it to be accurate. I have a DC switching power supply for my radios with a 13.8v voltage lock. The meter read something like 13.85V. So it probably has good accuracy. Anyway, it’ll work amazingly for a schmuck like me or anyone who likes to fix stuff.

It's great, but a bit of faff with the lack of the case
My first multimeter, so can't compare, but it's well built, and it has clever features. It didn't come with the case despite the description--something about their supplier changing the package--so I contacted the seller and they offered £10 off and that they'll update the description... Nothing at the time of writing, so if you do get this without the case, contacting them may be a good way to try and get them to finally change the description, or try to get a little partial refund.
