Anchors Hair Company Strong Hold Water Based Styling Pomade (4.5 Ounce)

I have bought every anchors aweigh product because they never disappoint and this is no different. The product is like a thick cream type feeling....scooping the product is smooth and feels like if it won't have as much hold as it claims to have but as soon as you start rubbing the product in between your hands, you feel the strong hold kick in. It literally holds your style up all day and then in the morning if your in a rush you can literally just restyle it again, that's how strong the hold is. It has decent texture and has a nice smell to it, the shine isn't to high; it is just enough shine to make your hair look nice an healthy and not greasy looking..great product.

I have extremely thick hair, I normally do not use hair products. I recently changed barbers, he used this on my hair after cutting it. I fell in love with the scent, coconut and leather and more leather than coconut. After purchasing a small jar the next trip to my new barber, I decided to get the large 4oz size. It only takes a small amount of this amazing product, (cover tip of index finger), then rub it with your other fingers on both hands. Run your fingers through your damp hair (not wet) after combing or brushing to get the style you want. I have found it washes out without leaving any residue with one wash. I have been work outside in 90 plus degree heat and sweating, without any change in the hold. It also seems that you can comb or brush maybe one time after you style has been achieved. If you use more of the product then it could take more than one hair washing to get it out, but it only takes a small amount to achieve the same results. If you like a manly just left the barbershop feel and smell, you will love this product. These are my honest opinions and I have not received anything for doing this review.

I'll give it a 5 star, because of not only what they use for ingredients but it giving your hair a natural look. I've been using gel for years, and can't stand it and have only been using it do to how thick my hair is. Nothing on this planet can hold my hair back. I decided I wanted something different so I looked around and ran into these guys, and by god they delivered a solid product. The only thing I can say about the product that I really don't care for is the size, and the price. $20 for some hair product is not really a reasonable price marketing wise, if your company is planning on expanding. for $20 I should be getting a bigger jar. If it was $15, i'd say you could have my business for life.

This is quite frankly the best hair product I've ever seen or used. No BS. I have a mixed heritage and some out of control hair. It's frizzy, curly, hard to control. This stuff is simple with ingredients you can understand. It has good control and allows a huge range of styles. It can be applied dry or wet, with a blow dryer or without, poofed up or slicked back, wavy, curly, whatever. Smells awesome, washes out easily. It's amazing. The only downside is it's pricey and the jar that you get is small. On the plus side you don't need much but at the same time you don't get much so it evens out. I wish it came in a bigger jar so I don't have to reorder them as often but the small jar fits in my gym bag no problem. I took a star away because at $20/jar it's a little pricey.

I was new to the world of hair products when I discovered Anchors. Being uncertain and reluctant to trust whether I could pull off the hairstyle I was going for (slick back) without looking “greasy”, I started with a small container of Teddy Boy original. From there, I was hooked. The craftsmanship that goes into the preparation of Anchor products clearly manifests itself in the remarkable consistency and true-to-advertising performance I’ve experienced. In using the Teddy Boy, I found that I loved the shine and overall look, but wanted something stronger or firmer (I have wavy hair that tends to make its own rules.) After using Strong Hold for the first time, I knew at that moment that it would be the only pomade I’d use going forward. It’s unbelievably firm from the moment it “sets” in until you wash it out. As such, it renders hair practically maintenance free, which is nice if you’re busy and don’t have time to preen yourself in front of the mirror for extended periods. It affords you the flexibility to restyle, as desired, throughout the day. I find the shine natural and not overly glossy or bright (for reference, I have jet black hair.) I would recommend this product, without reservation, to anyone looking for a natural pomade that performs like the label says. 2 thumbs up!

I wanted to like this product but after using it for about a week, I've decided I can't. Here is my breakdown on what I like and don't like about Anchors Strong Hold Pomade. Ingredients: 5 stars. I love the natural ingredients. They actually leave my hair feeling healthy and smooth. Price: 4.5 stars. Some people mentioned that this was too expensive but it's actually evenly priced compared to other high quality pomades when compared by volume. Hold: This is where it starts slipping. I would say at best this is a medium to light hold. I also feel like I have to reapply it after a few hours. 3 stars Scent: 2 stars. It has a strong cherry-vanilla scent, while not unpleasant, it's not the kinda of scent I like wearing. I wish AHC would say what the scent was in the product description or offer other scents. Texture and Application: 3 stars. Easy to apply but leaves my hair feeling a bit more waxy than I would like. Washes out very easily.

I liked the scent and the ease of use, spreads on really well, I am happy with its performance and I will buy again.
