Good taste but not a full meal - Portability is the word
We have now tried all of the Wise Entrees and without a doubt they are all very tasty although most are also a bit salty. Some such as the Cheesy Lasagna and the Chili Macaroni are so good I would be happy to have them at work just for a quick easy meal. But that's the thing, these bags are really just one or two meals per bag at most. I have compiled the list of calories per meal below form the Wise Food Storage website. Whats not listed on the site but only requires some basic math is the total calories per bag, as opposed to what they call a serving size. Simply put at 260 calories for a one cup serving of the Cheesy Lasagna as their numbers suggest I simply cant see this sufficing as a meal for anyone, not even a child. Now lets look at the total of 520 calories for the whole bag and this is starting to look more like a meal. Add to that some Wise fruit and vegetables three times a day and now we have a very good days menu. My point is this. Assuming 2000 calories a day for me and 1800 for her. After crunching the total numbers for my wife and myself each of these "60 serving" buckets amount to about 30 real servings. Three servings a day times the two of us and we come to about 5 days of actual emergency food. Where does that leave us? Well simply put it leaves us with two buckets of entrees plus one of the freeze dried fruit and one of the vegetables for a total of about 10ish days worth of emergency food. All this assumes that we have no other food to eat. The fact is we also have a pantry of canned goods ranging from pineapple for vitamin C to Ravioli for fat and calories. All of which could be eaten right out of the can and is rotated weekly as we buy more and move the old to the kitchen. So this begs the question "why not just skip the wise food and just go with the canned goods?" Weight is the answer. Many disasters will require rapid evacuation from your home. Most of these will not keep you away for more than a week. In this scenario the light weight and easily carried Wise Food Grab and Go buckets are far superior to the garbage bag full of whatever you could lug from the pantry. The name Grab and Go really says it all. I would look at the actual calorie counts below and decide exactly how many your family would need for a strenuous week of survival after a natural disaster and base your purchase on that. Bucket is sealed and I have no need to open it at this time
The bucket is sealed and, for the sake of maximum protection of it's contents, I do not intend to open it until I need to use it. I have enough faith to assume that it contains everything listed. Wise says that the shelf life of an unopened bucket is up to 25 years, so mine stays sealed until needed. No pissing and moaning about the quality of the food will be heard from me... The chief objective is SURVIVAL IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION! If you want to sample the food, contact Wise Company for a free sample. It took about two months for my request for a sample to be processed, but my Food Kit remains intact. The third party blind testing that I have seen says that the food is "good"... that is a more than sufficient quality rating when there isn't any other food resource available in an emergency. Good packaging. Fast delivery

It's wise to love Wise Freeze Dried Food
This stuff is really good. Wise Foods taste better than other freeze dried foods. My son and I tried a few different brands before we decided which brand we liked. The price is really good. The bucket is the perfect size for the two of us. Neither one of us each that much, so one package is one full meal for the two of us. The bucket is small, has room for extra packages if you want to stuff it to the brim. The buckets are sealed, but I opened mine because I wanted to see how it was packaged inside the bucket. The packages are the individual 4 serving packages. This is perfect for my son and I. The food cooks right in the pouch with hot water. Some other brands I had to cook on the stove. I didn't like that, especially if we lose electricity, we wouldn't be able to cook any food. Defeats the point of freeze dried food in the first place. Yes, I know we could always make a fire, but you never know what situation your going to be in. Since I live in a small two bedroom apartment, this bucket is a great size for storing. I have very little storage space as it is, so I am now learning to be creative. Whoever suggested using five gallon buckets with a table cloth draped over them for a night stand, that is a great idea. Works really well for me.

Best I've tasted so far
This wise company 60 serving entrée grab and go food kit is worth every penny that they're charging for it. Watch for sales and if you get the chance by one. The food is very tasty as compared to some other brands which are too salty or still too crunchy even after being heated for 15 min. So far I've tried the stroganoff and the vegetable rotini, which, are delicious. The vegetable rotini tends to be a little bit soupy as compared to the stroganoff but I figure if you reduce the amount of water from 4 cups to 3 1/2 cups get something really nice out of it. Don't get me wrong, it was good the way it was but it could be a little bit thicker. The stroganoff was perfect right out of the package. Very tasty if this is all you had to eat when the SH TF then do not despair. This is better than just good highly recommend.

Food is packed in different size servings i.e so one person need to repack in smaller bags. Meals don'te seem to be complete. The manual says you need additional bucket of meat servings and breakfast. Food taste not is very good. I will get dryfrozen meals next time. Taste better, single servings and not much more expensive.
