It depends on where it needs to be waterproof. Exteriors yes, when using a good sealer product. On insides there are also sealers available to seal from water and liquids. Can be used in splash zones when it's sealed.

Can a non professional use this product and get the same look as a professional?

Hi Vanessa, to answer your question, professionals have been trained and have a high level of competence that the non professionals don't have. However, we have many "do it yourself" handy people that have had good experiences. I suggest ordering a quart and playing with it before going onto the wall. Is it shiny upon application or is there a certain polish needed to be applied after? I’m looking for a matte unglossed finish

The product has a matte finish. You can add sheen by using a fine sandpaper and/or burnishing it with a flat pallet knife. You can also use a bee's wax top coat to add a light polish. You can control the degree of shine in the end result.

Pricey but worth it

This is a Venetian plaster type product with added textured for a matte finish. It applies really easy, but you want to work it a little bit to get a ‘live’ variegated finish. Watch a couple of vids, get a practice, and the finish looks absolutely great. Much better than those pretend finish products.

Only 2 coats on a white wall. ( on pic, first coat on the top and 2 coats done on the bottom ). Still need to apply a wax for the finition but looks as I wanted

Great Venetian Plaster!

The product was easy to work with and looked beautiful after the end result. I did have to purchase more product and noticed a slight difference in color and had to do some blending and area patches to blend the colors. I would buy this product again.
