Genalex Gold Lion 12AX7 ECC83S / B759 Gold Pins Vacuum Tube - Single

After a few days burn in period the sound they produce is amazing. Exceeded expectations. Vocals, bass, drums are completely transformed, to the better of course. Better imaging, better harmonics, and surprisingly much better definition too.

I purchased a presonus tube preamp about 4 months ago. I did a great deal of research and decided to purchase three tubes: a 12AX7 Gold Lion, a NOS 1953 GE 5751, and a cheap little JJ Junker that I don’t remember the name of. Basically the stock tube in the preamp was trash. The JJ junk tube gave more crisp and clear sounds, but had a lot of empty and hollow feeling. It didn’t have the warmth that was needed (keep in mind it was a $12 tube). The 5751 was phenomenal. lots of warmth along with a very clear and rich sound (about a $45 tube). Then there’s the Gold Lion. This tube is crisp, clear, and defined. It has a full sound and doesn’t cut the lows out. You can really push some beautiful distortion. All around the Gold Lion was superb. I cannot stress this enough. If you want a low budget tube that gives you some gorgeous quality, the Gold Lion is your baby. Forget the cheap tubes. They’re a waste of your money and the ratings come from people that really can’t hear the difference. The Gold Lion is worth it. Really don’t know how to emphasize it enough. Low cost. Great sound. Fantastic ability to push the tube. This things worth it. Buy it. Don’t but a crap tube that costs $20 because it’s cheaper. The ratings lie on those. Buy the Gold Lion. Seriously.

Nice sounding tube. Highs aren’t as harsh as a JJ Ecc83s.

Used for Modified Plexi Hi Gain.....50 Watt....Very Detailed you can hear every Note...Chords Ring out like so Detailed no Mud what so ever...It is a remake of the old Mullard but with gold pins...I use both its not the same as a NOS Mullard but it holds its own in a different way...is it better than JJ Tung Sol EH Sovtek....Can you hear a difference for 30.00 more bucks ( Absolutely ) Yes this tube is better its not Snake Oil Ive tried everything. Give it a shot you wont be disappointed...And clean oh it shines!

Haven't listened to this yet but I paid a premium for this tube to be balanced, with test markings and it to be the "S" version of the tube ECC83S (low noise) as advertised in the description, While the product may be balanced, there are no marking on the test results nor an indication thats its a real ECC83S. Not a huge deal as I only got this for evaluating a preamp I want to sell but I think I will purchase from a reputable dealer next time.

These tested great and gave a hi-fi quality to a couple of different amps.

I didn’t think these were worth all the hype but man was i wrong!!!!! Extreme clarity Super articulate even when using distortion. Great mids with powerful punch. I cant stress enough how clear and articulate the sound quality is with this tube. Im a HUGE Randy Rhoads dan and this tube os perfect for that super harmonic rich mid boosted tone!!! Im definitely getting these from now on!!!! Only issue was the fitting into the tube socket. These tubes are slightly taller than regular 12ax7 tubes. It may seem as if they did not go in all the way if you have a neck plate around the tubes position. Amazing tube!!!

I play guitars through a tube amp, and I don't know that I would spend this kind of money on tubs for my heavily modified Blues Jr., but these were destined for an Audio Research SP8 preamp. I've been a huge ARC fan starting in the late '80s and this particular preamp is one of my favorites. Upgrade the caps and you have a great sounding pre. I've changed the tubes several times over the years, usually getting them directory from Audio Research. I decided to give these Russian made 12AX7 tubes a try and am pleasantly surprised. The top end is very clean and extended with a balanced sound that extends very low. The noise level is very low although I've heard quieter tubes. The sound is clean and clear like a sonic veil has been lifted. My records seem to come to life with exceptional imaging and staging. Genalex Gold Lion is now my goto tube for my audio equipment, but I don't know if I would spend the money to put them in my Fender amp. Groove tubes or even a $15 Mullard are fine for the blues.
